The new PECO PTC rate of 9.239 cents per kWh begins on March 1, 2025! Assuming your average monthly electricity usage is 854 kWh, the PECO PTC cost is about $78.90 per month. Currently, we can’t beat that rate. But, that rate is slated to change on June 1, 2025. And odds are that the summer PECO PTC rate is going to be higher. So, locking in a 12 month plan now will save you more money in the long run.
As a bonus, there are things you can get from a plan that PECO can’t offer, like green energy! For instance, the Verde Energy Clean Power 12 plan is 10.19 cents per kWh, which means your monthly supply charge will run about $87.02. And this 100% renewable energy plan comes without monthly charges or early termination fees to worry about!
Cheapest Plans for New Customers
Next, we have two seperate plans from highly rated providers, exclusively for new customers.
Firstly we have a plan from our gold ranked provider, Frontier Utilities. Their PA Frontier Secure Power 12 plan weighs in at 10.29 cents per kWh, with the monthly charge of $9.95. That totals to around $97.82 in energy supply costs. While there are no early termination fees to worry about, this plan will automatically renew to a variable rate if you do not respond to renewal notices.
Next, we have a plan from our bronze ranked provider, the Direct Energy Live Brighter 12 plan. At 10.39 cents per kWh, that’s roughly $88.73 a month in energy supply costs. And all with no monthly charges or early termination fees! This plan will also auto-renew to a variable rate so watch for those renewal notices.
12 Month Plan with Rewards
Finally we have the Xoom Energy SureLock 12 plan. The SureLock 12 comes in at only 10.79 cents per kWh, bringing your monthly energy supply costs to around $92.15. And there’s no monthly charges to worry about. However, there is a $110 early termination fee to be aware of. At the end of your contract, Xoom Energy will offer you new terms. If you do not respond, your contract will auto-renew under those terms.
