Firstly, nobody gets excited about electricity. It's a commodity, one guy's is functionally the same as another. The difference then is how the OTHER stuff works. Is it easy to pay my bill, easy to order, are they NICE?
Well, dealing with Bounce Energy all that is YES. They have an app for my Android phone, they respond on Facebook like they're actual people, not marketing robots. Plus they make an effort to educate about your usage every way possible. I get emails charting my use and how it compares to historical use.
Add to that rewards (I've been with them for over 4 years so I've achieved VIP status gaining me permanent 3% off) and your actual cost is going to be lower than your rate.
Sure, electricity isn't "sexy" but Bounce Energy makes it easy. ”

I just talked to customer service to see why the credit wasn't on there yet and they explained that it wont be credited until you pay 3 months of your bills on time. “ I used to be very happy with Bounce Energy; reasonable rates and the occasional promotion BUT I suspect there was a management change late it 2011 and some financial VP has sought ways to cut costs and push up profit. Because they only accept electronic fund transfers from two banks my online checking (Ing now Capital One 360) has to send paper checks. This worked fine until early 2012 when checks that had been posted after 5 to 8 days started to take 30 days and even 45 days. I was, and still am, convinced that they cut back on accounts receivable staff or deliberately held checks to get late or disconnect fees. I always paid on-line the day I was notified a bill was available and never waited for the paper bill but when I got a warning my bill was due and unpaid had to call three times with a credit card. Then things went back to normal it seemed but it was worse. A few months later I had a disconnect warning and when I called was told they had stopping sending the COURTESY emails. Now I just send them a big chunk of money before the bill is due, after paying last month I still have an $82. Anyone who doubts this can have proof of date checks issued and date cashed, I even wrote to the TDJ who I assume don't care about consumer ripoff if it's hard to prove they hold checks. ”

“ Just from experience, twice with Bounce Energy in a row (two different locations), I find that their monthly charge (specifically TDU) are consistently higher than Reliant Energy as well as FirstChoice Energy. All three are based on monthly variable plan. It has been unclear to me as to how Bounce Energy receives high customer satisfaction when their monthly charge is that high. ”

“ My 1st and 2nd bill were about what I had expected based on the 12-month fixed rate I signed up with; the average price per kwh was .08 for the above 2000+ kw used each month. On my 3rd bill, the average price per kwh suddenly went up to .086. I realize the usage went down a little bit to 1925 kw but, according to my calculations, based on the EFL I signed up with, it should still be .08 per kwh but somehow they charged me an average of .086. Somehow the TDU charges are increasing and the Bounce floor manager that I talked to says they have no control over the TDU charges, that it is the electric service provider (in my case Oncor) who is responsible for the TDU charges/increases. What is the use of signing up a 12-month fixed contract when Bounce is essentially charging more than the price per kwh I had signed up for? I understood how Bounce calculated the 500kwh, 1000kwh, and 2000 kwh on the EFL I signed up for but now, on this 3rd bill, my calculations for the price per kwh is not matching what they are charging me, not even close. Basically, this is a bait and switch. I talked to a customer service rep and then the floor manager and got nowhere; they stuck to whatever the bill said. I have been calculating every electric bill I got from different electric companies for several years now and this is the first time I feel like being ripped off. I will run from this electric company as soon as my contract is up. ”
