Bounce Energy was founded in 2008 in Houston, Texas and has since become one of the fastest growing retail electricity providers in the state. Bounce has been innovative with the technology options in their customer account management software and have a variety of different rewards programs from which a customer can select. They're extremely active with their customers on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets and their customers also can take advantage of one of the most robust refer-a-friend programs available. In 2012 they received the highest level of excellence from JD Power & Associates customer surveys, and they've consistently been ranked as one of the Top 2 of my Texas Electricity Ratings since 2011. I'd say they've come a long way since opening their doors in 2008. Bounce Energy has recently expanded their service into New York and Pennsylvania.

Really great company

  I had been a long time customer with TXU, and I didnt even realize what a high rate I had with them. After shopping around, I chose bounce and have been very satisfied with my bills. I got a great fixed rate and did the math and turns out I would be saving over $600 a year! It was easy to switch. I just called their customer service line on a tuesday and by friday I was already a Bounce customer. I love their website and my online account is easy to use and has lots of information. I will be recommending Bounce to anyone shopping for electricity.

Love 'Em - WOW'd me - I'm Telling Everyone

  I am not usually a fan of big utility companies, been burned by them in the past. I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful Bounce Energy was when I signed up. I was moving into my first apartment since moving to Houston from Seattle - so I really had no idea what I should do considering that I had never had a choice when picking my electric company.They walked me through all the plans and I decided to sign up with them since the rates were as good OR LOWER and they were the most helpful of the 5 companies I spoke to. Got my first bill yesterday and it was nothing like I that i thought it would. I kept hearing horror stories from my friends about their bills during the summer - I was pleased with mine.So, thanks Bounce Energy friends. You made this a lot easier than I thought it would be. Now, just keep it up.

Unorganized and Misleading

  Great rates. Terrible customer service. They can't keep their records straight. In addition, they have tried to wiggle out of giving the companion airfare ticket 3 times. Just FYI, I've paid early every month for the 9 months I've been a customer. I recommend Bounce if you want low rates only. I recommend another company if you want low rates and good customer service and for promises to be kept.

Customer Service and Bill Pay a Nightmare

  When I first signed up for Bounce I was very happy with their six
month lock-in rate. By the time the second bill came around I
received a late notice and them threatening to turn off our electricity.
Third bill they didn't process my payment ending in another late fee.

Calling customer service EVERYTIME has resulted in being on hold for
OVER half an hour. The representatives are constantly transferring me
because they don't know how to answer simple questions, and then
when I do talk to someone who supposedly knows what they're talking
about, they tell me to use the email system, which takes days.

In my opinion, look elsewhere.

Bounce bites!

  We signed up for Bounce's 6 month "Blue Sky" were satisfied until the 6th month. We paid our
bills before we went on vacation. when we got
back we had a disconnect notice from Bounce
stating we were 2 months late. Couldn't get a
reply by email. took way too long to get a
person to admit to their error. When our next
bill came it still showed us as past due. again, no email reply for WEEKS, no answer for
nearly 30 minutes by phone on MULTIPLE tries.
They've never replied to emails until I said we
were switching. Then they called 2 hours later.
Switching without remorse.

Bounce Has Been Great

  I signed up with Bounce about 2 months ago, just before summer started to heat up. The sign up process was easy, and within a week I had received notice from Bounce that I had been effectively signed up and added to their system. Since then, my bills have cut in half, and I've gotten regular notices from them about my due bills. Paying online has been easy. So far, so good.

  Direct energy had horrible contracts and fees with bad rates. Reliant fools you by pretending to be nice and then treating you bad, but bounce just loves you all over!

  I became one of Bounce Energy's first customers when they opened their doors and asked me to switch to their service. Since deregulation, I had never once looked into doing this, so I thought it might be a move I would come to regret. They offered a lot of incentives like rebates and rewards that got my attention. I'm happy to say that not only did the transition go smoothly, but they have kept their promises and have not had to be reminded to deliver what they promised to me. The rebates appear automatically on my statements and rewards show up in the mail. When my bills are paid automatically with a credit card charge I am notified with an email every time. Because they communicate so effectively through the web and email, I never have to use the phone. I highly recommend this company.

Love This Electric Company

  So, i can't tell you how many issues I have had with electric companies in the Houston area. My overarching view was they were all terrible. After I got fed up with Stream's shady practices of increasing your rates without telling you, i switched to Bounce Energy. Not only did my bill cut in half, but I don't have to deal with the grief that comes with every other company's customer services problems. Love it.

  I have been a customer of Bounce for almost a year. It has been a terrible experience. Long waits on the telephone,no action available on the net.All I ever receive is an apology, the the problem remains or changes to something new.

  I appreciate a company who thinks outside the box. I was moving and a ton of things to do including ordering my electric service. Didn't know who I was going to choose, but I knew that I was switching from Reliant. I did some comparing and in about 5 minutes found this Express Moving plan from Bounce Energy. Hooked up my electric service, changed my address and added me to the don't call and don't mail list (which i hadn't even thought of). But on top of all of that, got my first bill at my new place it was less than what my last bill was with Reliant with only 14 days of service on my last bill. It certainly pays to shop around.

  Good company. I've had them for 6 months. I liked the Fresh Start program, no deposit. My bill dropped drastically, to half, after the 3rd month of payment on time . I would recommend. They got me power when everyone wanted a huge deposit.

  I signed up for Bounce Energy and decided to take them up on their free flight deal. I got the card as promised and went to the web site. I needed to get 2 tickets to San Diego. So I checked the prices on the web site versus Expedia. They were about $100 less. So I booked them. Everything worked like a normal ticket. The thing I'd note is that I booked the tickets 2 months in advance. So, booking early is pretty important. When I tried to book tickets a week in advance of another trip the prices were less - but the departure times and return flight times were either really late or early.

Not A Well-Organized Company

  I signed up for Bounce Energy when I was looking for a company that didn't require a deposit. The plan was meant to start out at .16.9/KWH, and after 3 months of paying on time it would go down to their lowest available rate (around .10/KWH).The first month I was automatically charged the same amount twice, and I had to call to request a refund. They took about 30 minutes to answer the phone, but they were kind to me and my money was refunded in 4 days. After paying 3 months on time I did not recieve a lower rate on my bill. When I called to find out why, they said that their system had me late on one bill - which I was not - and they fixed that error for me. Unfortunately, they said I still have to pay the amount on the bill - even though it is much higher than it supposed to be - and any extra charges will carry over as credit. Overall, their price is fair, no long term contract, and quick service connection - but they need to work a little on their customer service and billing.

  I did quite a bit of shopping around before I switched to Bounce Energy. First off, this site is by far the best one to help you make an informed decision on electric companies. Thanks. Second, I decided on Bounce Energy due to the information you provided, namely low rates, bill credits and the free friends airfare thing. When I called to order, the rep was extremely helpful and nice and she walked me through ordering a fixed rate plan at a lower price than the other plan I originally wanted. I primarily felt compelled to promote them when I got my first bill and it was half of what my previous bills had been from Reliant. Hope it stays that way.

Horrible Company To Deal With

  Simply stay away from this awful company. The customer service is a nightmare, they make you wait on hold for an hour at a time, will not give a straight answer to your questions, etc etc etc. They overcharged me one month and after spending about six hours on the phone dealing with them I was told repeatedly that "The bill has been generated and I must pay It-No options".They gave me a credit the next month but refused to listen to me try to tell them THIER mistake was putting me in financial hardship.I can not stress how HORRIBLE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS-STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

  Had alot of problems with Bounce. One is you never can get through to them on the phone, I have spent hours of cell minutes trying to straighten out problems with them. I moved out of an apartment on the 5th and notified them of the 6th to shut off the electric there and start it at the new place. On the 17th I found out they never sent it to the right dept so I reordered on the 14th.It would be on on the 17th at new place and when I was talking with them again about another issue they said no it says it won't be on until the 20th at the new location. On the 28th the landlord cut off the old electric and believe it or not mine was not on---well it was but they turned it on for the house across the street!! I had $200.00 worth of food going bad in frig. They did put it through as same day service which is suppose to be $125 charge.They technically had until midnight to turn it on so I had to run and buy a bunch of ice to keep everything good. Horrible --Simply Horrible
