Iv been with company 3years and I moved to another apartment, and new apartment was on hold. I submitted forms to remove the hold. It's was Friday and Tuesday they didn't turn on electricity.im had a lot of stress , I lose my money and my son sick I cant do anything without electricity.

“ TXU has the worst system I have ever seen for accounting, bill pay, and customer service. I initially thought the rates were decent when I signed on over a year ago. Since then rates have increased dramatically and customer service is horrible. I have been using the autopay feature for 9 months with no issues. In month 10, the credit card was declined for insufficient funds yet month 11 the payment was process for both month 10 and 11. The same scenario happened again in months 12 and 13. After discussing with my bank there is no reason for it to be declined, the account is in good standing, and more than ample room on the credit limit. TXU was set to terminate the service so I arranged for a 1 time payment to the same exact credit card and it was processed immediately without issue. I called TXU to confirm payment and that autopay billing would proceed. NO. Autopay was cancelled when I made the one time payment. Besides all of this customer service was completely useless, could not answer any question I had about my bill, and I could barely understand them. ”
“ They block me from my account after I complain about my account and called them out. I used less kilowatt from the previous month but they charged me more money. Could not explain why ”
“ Absolutely horrendously overcharged. I payed more on average by $75 for a small apartment than any home owner I know. To top it off, after canceling my service they charged me for a full month to make it resemble the average. ”
“ I was always suspicious of them. I did switch to TXU and my worst nightmare started. They promised a $250.oo gift card to enroll. When I canceled the service four months later, I had not received the Gift Card and to this day still no gift card. Customer Service does not listen to you, but talks over you. They treat you like an idiot. The representative who signed me up took the liberty of signing me up for 3 years with out my knowledge or permission. I when I canceled the service they charged me $398.00 when I had been told it would be $150.00. That's when I found out that I had been enrolled in a 3 year term not the one year I requested. No one would listen and no one wants to help solve this problem. After the first payment after the canceled service, they turned the account over to a collection agency. The only way they would refund part on the cancellation fee was if I resigned with them. This company will cheat you out of your money. DO NOT USE THEM !!!!! ”
“ I have been a customer of TXU energy for just four months and my bill for an 1100 sq ft apartment has been just $30 cheaper than my bill was for my 2200 sq ft house with a different electric company. We made a conscious effort to turn off lights and even turned off the heat/air entirely a few days and our bill dropped a whopping $5.00. Have even spoke with co-workers who reside in two bedroom apartments and they pay half what I do monthly. Ridiculous! ”

“ Had been with them 22 years renew my contact and suppose to be lock in but every month was raise so look around found another provider. Then they contact me after the service was going to be cancel and I explained to them reason why but didnt care. Then what top it off I got my bill and wasnt due yet and they call me to pd my bill was out of town told them u look at my records you alway been pd and on time but lady didnt but I told her that I would contact them Monday morning so I did and the lady said she sorry but they wasnt suppose to do that and I explained to her why I left and she thank you and u have a great day. ”
“ I have had many problems trying to pay my bill on time due to work and health issues. These Representatives on the phone have gone above and beyond to do what they could to help me. I cant explain here. They have helped me get the bill taken care of when other companys would have just said, pay or go without. I really appreciate there help. Everyone I have talked to has been WONDERFUL and HELPFUL. ”
“ No compassion at all. We just asked for 3 extra days to pay our bill because of medical expenses that came up, they turned it off. Have been a customer for 20 years. ”
“ My bill went up by $200 the very first month from my previous provider. $630.00 for a 2 bedroom 1000 soft house!! Seriously!!? This past month was down to $570. I paid $520 on it last week planning to pay the other $50 today and this morning my wife calls me and says the power is off. Thinking to myself, surely they wouldn't turn it off over $50 dollars so call them and yep, turned it off over $50. So paid the 50 right then and let's just say expressed my displeasure over the situation and not even letting me know ahead of time and she says they emailed me a disconnect notice on the 16th and called me that morning and the day before to let me know. BS. No calls at all on my phone from them. Checked my email and spam for it....nothing from them. They did not want to notify me. They wanted it to get disconnected so they could charge me a reconnect fee. Very unscrupulous people. How ironic that in less than a half hour after getting off the phone with them, the new bill for next month hit my email. Another $618. How odd that the bill has no trouble reaching my email, but not the disconnect notice. I am gladly gonna pay the $295 early termination fee to fire them. And gonna report them to the PUC. Stay away from these crooks. Hey, TXU....YOU'RE FIRED!! ”

TXU according to the commercials are the best priced around, well they are unless you actually use the electric in the home you live in. I signed up with them online and was told my bill would run 175.00 to 180.00 per month and then the phone call I got after the rep said the exact same thing. I said ok well I get my first bill it was 500.00 ! Are you kidding me? I'm not mathematician but 500.00 Is no where near 180.00. I call them because they turned my power off, no call , no disconnect notice, nothing. They demanded that I pay 200.00 before they turn it back on so I go pay that that turn it back on and they say " oh by the way you have to pay the rest of this month 300.00 plus next month another 500.00 plus reconnect of 90.00 by the 29th" that is nearly 900.00 ! There's no way. They then told me then "call before that And let us know I can't do anything about it now" great so I call them I can't pay much become husband has gotten laid off and my pay was cut in half.
They told me " well you have to pay 400.00 before we will help you"
Me " i was told to call you ifi can't pay by this date that's what I'm doing, I don't have any money"
Them " Not my problem, pay this amount and we will help you"
Me " I don't have any money how can I pay you if I don't have it and I was told to call you if I had a issue well I have an issue"
Them " ma'am again we want to help you but you must pay 400.00 first "
This went on for about 39 minutes with me trying to get them to understand I have no money to pay them they then informed me that they will turn my electric off again because there has been no payments in my account, I said thar they are wrong that I paid 200.00 they said yes we see that but it does not count, because it's PENDING. Pending??! . I paid that in August why is it pending???? They never did answer that one . So now I'm in jeopardy of having my power turned off again because they lied, are holding money in limbo, they are demanding money before they will help me. That's no way to run a company. They just don't care about anyone but themselves and the bottom line. Oh a d now I find out they put an "Switch Hold" on my account so if they turn my power off I'm outta luck to get any help or power at all because they will want the 900.00 and another reconnect fee. I really hope none of them go thru this and get treated this way ..... Or maybe I do so they can see what they put us through. ”

“ I called to change my rate, they locked me in at a 12.5 cents rate, I get the bill, for 19.7 cents, I called to correct, they told me, that was a promotion and that I could not change it, but my contract with them was 2 yrs, they will be charging $295 to get out of my contract early, and they went up on the delivery fee. DO NOT TRUST THEM, Liars!!! ”

“ I live in 1610 at tremore. I started the account in January 12, 2021. I get a bill on the third of each month, that is crazy. I came in washing clothes in my new apartment at least three to four times a day. my bill was less than one hundred dollars until the summer time. in the summer it was less than 115.00. In September my ceiling fans in my apartment stopped working and I was grateful for this because I knew my bill would go down, Not. I took all the light bulbs out of the ceiling fan and bathroom. the bill shot up. My dryer stopped working so I had to wash at a laundry room for four months. the bill still went up. I don't understand to this day why this docent look a bit suspicious and greedy. I began to unplug the stove and tv all the time. What is going on? Im not happy with being used. I have a baby and he sits in the dark with a few candles everyday. Can someone please let me know of a fair company..........PLEASE......NOW!!!!!!!!!HELP............ ”
“ No matter the plan, it's over-priced! During the hotter months, leave my thermostat at 80 during the day and 75 at night and I'm paying more for a 1 bedroom apartment than all of my friends with 3-4 bedroom houses in Austin. In fact, when my lease is up next month, I'm moving out of this apartment, which requires TXU and into a house that does not require I use them. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move into an apartment that requires TXU ”
