Kelli Jefferson has went above and beyond to help get my service restored after It was mistaken disconnected when bill was already paid. Kellli Jefferson went out her way to call and check on my Family and I. She also applied a credit towards my next bill. We need more workers like Ms. Kelli, she was very compassionate and had a warm spirit. Kiddos to you Kelli Jefferson. |

Transformer placement in my yard
Recently work was being done in our area and new above ground transformers were put in. One was placed in the middle of my front yard and it looked horrible, someone obviously didn't consider the positioning. I called customer service to complain and after a few incorrect transfers to different departments i finally reached Alicia B in new business. she took it upon herself to get to the right people on my behalf and explain the issue.(i think she could hear my frustration). The crew came out today and in less that a week they are prepping for the new placement. Alicia went above and beyond. |

New billing System Makes Peco Frustrating to use.
I never had any real issues with peco. Generally reliable, and they are pretty forgiving if you a few days behind. My frustration with them started with their new website, something as simple as paying a bill or switching my address has become a big to do and complicated. |

Truly horrible customer service
I received notice that I needed my meter checked or PECO would shut off my power. They only offer 4 hours windows for service and representatives become annoyed when you cannot guarantee that you'll be able to miss a day's work to stay home and wait for their providers to come out. I would absolutely go with a different company. |

Billing is rediculous
I received a $248.90 bill for gas ($24.78) and electric ($224.12) The bill has sky-rocked from last Month (which was warmer through out the whole month). I called and was told it was due to the weather. Which certainly doesn't seem right. I live in a apartment community in the smallest 1 bedroom in the whole complex.I also work at the complex and know what a lot of people are paying for their PECO. I am paying more than a 2 bedroom townhome. Which those folks have to heat/cool a first and a second floor. The SAME thing happened last year for the July bill except that was even higher in the $350 range. I called and tried to explain this but I was transferred to have an Audit done which of course you have to pay for as well. I am Just at a loss for words currently. I am very disappointed in their billing. |

Customer service
I've been trying for over a month to transfer a meter account to my name, but I haven't been able to do so because the meter is a commercial one, and no one knows how to help me change it to a residential account. The customer service over the phone is very poor as they always give me different explanations every week, and it takes hours for them to answer my call regardless of the day or time I call. |

Unethical practices
So I am on a deferred payment arrangement because I got behind in my bill a while back when I was in a hardship so I pay my monthly bill each month on top of a deferred payment that's working off my past due balance, but if you're ever late they take you off of this payment arrangement and then make you pay a deposit of three times your monthly bill, knowing you're already struggling financially hence the reason why you're on a payment plan to begin with. It's not clear exactly what they consider late I've been two days late before and I've been 2 weeks late before had nothing happen when I was 2 weeks late but then when I'm 2 days late they're sending a shut off notice, there is no consistency. They mess with people's bills right before the winter when they know that they can't shut the power off and also in the hottest part of the summer when they know people are dependent on their electric for AC and that's when they choose to start penalizing and charging outrageous deposits which should be illegal. I've always said deposits should only be for new services or for restoration of services that have been shut off not randomly charge while your service is still activated. |

Unbelievable
L call Peco of Philadelphia to turn my electricity on in one of my rental property on April 2 , and they give me appointmen window from 7am to 12pm . it took me 45mins to drive to the rental property . I was there 7am and I call them around 11:24 to know when they will show up to my surprise I was told that they over book the appointment and they noone will come over , so I rescheduled to monday and the same thing happens again call again for Tuesday. No one show up and I call again and make appointment for Friday which is today, no one show uo the told me is all day appointment that someone will come in from 7am-12am, I think the are idiots for them to think that I will allow someone to come to dark house. They are monopoly that's why they didn't care about their customers |

THIS COMPANY IS GARBAGE
PECO was fine until a few months ago. Now it is awful and dealing with customer service is infuriating! Calling their customer service line is a colossal waste of time. Voice prompts lead you in circles until you're so fed up that you just hang up. It also takes FOREVER to get your bill, and when you're a business trying to close out your previous month it really screws everything up. Do better PECO!!!! |

PECO is Out of Control with their pricing
SInce Janauary 2024 and the redid the Account numbers that in itself is very very strange to me. People for years have had their account numbers and now they are changing it WHY. Second now all my bills the Distribution charge is more than my actual usage amount causing my bill to go through the roof. Out of control prices. Where is the utilities commission to get this under control |

If you can use another provider do it.
Worst experience of my life. Received zero bill, got charged a late fee, was told that I can't pay or see anything online because they're changing account information, so me receiving a late fee was because of their error and not mine. Took me over an hour to get any answer, and zero help. DO NOT USE PECO if you have another option. I will be looking into another provider today. I've never heard of a firm that doesn't have a consistent date that you will receive a bill, or that transferred everyone's account information over and is still charging late fees because of their decisions to do this change over. None of the customer service people were helpful in getting me any answers. DO NOT USE PECO AS YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER. |

Unfair deposits
If you were renting apartment and you gave your security deposit before move in and you're not behind in your rent at all even if you were late and you paid appropriate late fee, would your landlord come to you in the middle of your lease agreement and be like "you know what I'm going to need 2 months deposit"? No he wouldn't and legally he could not do that, and at the end of your lease term you would get your deposit back as long as you didn't owe any rear money and there wasn't any damages that he had to repair. Well guess what, Peco does that. Peco will punish you for being late by charging you a 2 months deposit on top of your regular bill. And you only get that deposit back if you go 12 months without making a late payment, otherwise where does that money go? They just pocket it. |

Over PECO but have no other choice
For some reason I keep getting a shut off notice every month if I am 5 days late. I am not on a payment plan, I am current with my bill and the only excuse given to me is "peco is cracking down when people are late". It's also ridiculous that my distribution charge is almost the same as my bill which makes it over 500 a month in a house only two people live in! PECO sucks and they need to open the physical location back up for real customer service, I'm tired of talking to customer service only on the phone that have no answers other than "that's how PECO works". How is it PECO is the only place to distribute electricity in Philadelphia? Monopolizing much? Smh I hate it here! |

Meter
We have been out of power in Ambler Pa for 5 days and Peco came and took out meters preventing us from getting power even though we have running electricity because our neighborhood lights are on and other houses have power. They told us we would have our power back today at 11:40 and we havent seen one Peco person during this time. Us as a community are very upset by this and would like to have our power back. We keep calling customer service and there are no real people to talk to. Sincerely your 19002 neighbors. |

PECO SUCKS DURING WINTER TIME.
For 2 yrs. now, I have been dealing with ur price gouging doing winter season. I live in a senior building and have an effiency apt. No large electrical equipment. A wheelchair and tv. How can u triple my my bill. I have contacted u rude people several times with the supervisor being the rudest. Most months u stop at 29 days. This month u went over 30 days. What is the benefit of being on the CAP Program??? Zero. Low Income means nothing to you!! I just don't and never would understand how $47.00 per month reached $140.00 doing December and I did not u the heater. U talk about scams and are one of the biggest scams I have ever seen. PRICE GOUGING is wrong. U NEED TOO BE CHECKED. |

Electricity shut off for no reason
Peco is supposed to notify you 10 days prior to shutting off your electricity. We received no warning and our power cut out right before work, which was not ideal. We have been keeping up with payments, so we were completely blindsided. He called their customer service department and explained the situation and they told him to send in verification of his income and that it would take up to 72 hours to process the information. Meanwhile, we're left in the dark after keeping up our end of the deal. We opened a case with PUC, but they said to expect the process to take long as well. If I am late with my payments, Peco expects me to pay asap and charges a fee. Peco shuts off my power for no reason, with no warning and takes three days to turn it back on. Why is there no one to keep them in line? Judging from other reviews, they hold your electricity hostage and charge you more and more money every year. |
