Couldn't even get past the terrible customer service to sign up
“ I tried to switch from my current provider to XOOM Energy to save some extra money on my gas bills. The sign up process was lengthy and required a $150 deposit. They said you could waive the deposit with proof of payment of last 3 utility bills. After sending my payment history (perfect) with my current provider, this proof was declined and I still had to pay the deposit. After calling to customer service, they could not explain what was wrong with my proof of payment history and said they could not do anything further. I have a near perfect credit score and pay all my bills. It may sound trivial but there is no reason they should have me put up a deposit. It just showed me what I was getting into with XOOM for the next 12 months... not worth the savings to deal with these people. I'm going back to my current provider and happy to pay more. ”

Good luck
“ on the phone for another 44 minutes on hold so far. Call them daily and almost impossible to get a live person. once you do they always have to send you to another department. Service pole rotted off, tried to get them to shut the power off. Paid them $110 in advance. Suppose to show up in three business days, a week later still never showed up. ended up putting live wire on new pole myself. 4 months later still trying to get my $110 back. Thats just one example. Called to get service turned on, had to call them 4 different times to actually get it on. Now tried to pay a balance, but have to wait until the bill comes out a month from now., service was shut off yesterday. What a joke. And can't even tell me the consumption or estimated bill. I think they put you on hold hoping you hang up, and usually I finally do. Wish I had other options. About to go off grid completely. ”

Going back to scana.
“ This company is a joke. Lied about a gift card for signing up. Rates changed sporadically. The customer care doesn't care. So I am going back to scana which I never had a problem with. ”

Not truthful
“ Was in kroger today minding my own business and this guys says hello I say it back and he tried to get me to acknowledge switching my aes for this company without reading anything. He kept saying scroll to the bottom NOPE I READ THINGS... It said by saying yes you acknowledge to switch over to this company. So I tell him I will not until I get home to read it he then gets an attitude and says we'll it expires in 5 mins so you can't. No thank you I do not sign things without reading it bit nice try . ”

Complete scam
“ We signed up with these scam artists at our local walmart where they are offering a gift card to switch. Since signing up we had 2 decent bills and the rest have been double what we were paying before. Its bad enough when large energy suppliers are screwing over their customers then you get companies like this one coming out promising lower bills and in the end they are worse then the big companies. Absolute garbage company and now I feel bad for the people we talked into switching and will not tell another soul to do so. ”
