  I've had NRG for over 12 months and they were only lower than DLC the first two months. My rate is 3x the DLC rate. I despise this company and their false advertising.

  Called to find my Budget billing amount, no where on the bill is ot called that. They require you to answer a multitude of questions before they will answer the simplest of your.

West penn is the absolute worse

  They random cancel your auto pay and then will have to pay 2-3 months at once to get it turned back on , ontop of its constantly down this small area has been down for going on over 12 hr with no update no power food and perishables in the fridge

Lack of empathy/No payment confirmation through email

Ive been a Just Energy customer for years now and on 5/9/2024 I did a payment arrangement to avoid disconnection on my service. Payment went through but never received an email confirmation by Just energy like I normally receive with the terms. Today 5/18/24 Saturday Im speaking to a representative over the phone a guy most likely from India about not receiving my payment confirmations like I normally receive them and he blames me that it is my email address or email domain at fault. He then tests and sends over a bill through email while on the phone and comes through right away with no issues and along with a survey for me to answer, but not a bill of confirmation of payments made. He explained he wont fix anything on their end nor bring it to the attention to their IT because Im just one customer complaining about the payment issue and no one else is. This is terrible customer service and I tell him how are we supposed to be making payments, if we wont have any proof of payments being made with no confirmations? I can always change companies for this reason since I do not have the trust in Just Energy to just take their word that payments are going through, when I cant get proof by email nor mail that payments are going through.? This will not work for me! Either fix the issue with payment confirmations that customers can receive by email or you will loose a customer over this. He tells me he wont do it and he cant stop me from leaving to another company. Very lack of respect on his part with customers. If one customer service representative does not care and says words like that, trust me when I say no one else in that company will care either. The rep and most likely the whole company believe that customers not receiving their payment confirmations are not a big deal! and that will allow them power over customers to decide when or when not to disconnect your service since their is no proof of payments. This is a bad company for business!! And I am currently searching for new service elsewhere online as we speak. Because just like that rep told me over the phone he cant keep me from leaving. He was right! They lack empathy. My concern is I need to know where my money is going to with proof. Not your word. Your word means crap. No confirmation receipts no payment made. The way I see it. You dont care for customers, then we do not care for you! and we will take our hard earned money and go somewhere else where we are truly valued customers. And no false advertisements

Bypassable Generation and transmission rate

  This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in my life. Hold times are always over an hour, good luck getting an explanation on anything. Its all double speak. My favorite part is that I'm being charged MORE for choosing them as my electric supplier. Someone please explain to me why I am getting charged a recovery fee for money/damage I didn't cause and was not related to my service or property? I cannot even get someone to explain what would be on my bill if I switch to one of these CRES they keep trying to push me off on. When you sign up for one of the CRES you get a bill from the CRES AND FirstEnergy. This whole system seems like a scam!

Good monthly rates, trashy sales tactics

  Close to the end of my term I had a sales agent reach out who was quite rude. She was very pushy trying to get me to signup for a yearlong averaged contract. She would only give me the monthly premium and would not give me a per kwh price and even started to low key insult me asking if my problem was if I just couldn't afford things.. nice.

Deceptive Pracitces...Scam

  I signed up for the electric service, not the gas, since their gas rate was higher than what Peco offers. This is all recorded, then they deny it. We are getting gas bills through the winter that are double what they should be. We were put on a variable plan without our knowledge, or permission. They are a scam. There is no savings here, do yourself a favor and say no thank you. When trying to cancel they'll give you the run around and say it'll take 45 days. This has been an expensive life lesson.

Bad Pricing

  Took 4 months to change electric service and after changing service cost more than $50 monthly than National Grid. Cancelled service in January and still being billed for their service 3 months later. NYS needs to stop encouraging the switch to other of service providers!

Ridiculous bills

  First month in my new place, an 1 bedroom 1 bathroom. they told me I would save more money there than AEP i decided to switch , my first bill on AEP was $140. Next month it was with NRG and my bill was $222 , way more than I shouldve paid. I decided to cancel same day I got that bill, my new AEP bill just came and it is $130. I would never suggest NRG unless you want a bill between $200/$300. Unnecessarily robbed out of money.
